About the role:

We’re looking for a Communications Specialist to join our team. You’ll help create and share content across digital platforms, support internal and external communications, and work alongside managers to keep our community informed and engaged. This role combines creative writing, technical skills, and administrative support in a collaborative environment.

What you’ll do:

Website & Digital Platform Management

Manage and update website content, ensuring consistency across platforms. Publish news stories and urgent alerts. Support team members with content management questions and troubleshooting.

Newsletter & Email Communications

Help produce and distribute regular digital newsletters. Manage email lists and distribution groups. Handle ad-hoc communications for stakeholders including staff and the wider community.

Graphic Design & Visual Content

Create graphics for social media, signage, and promotional materials. Coordinate design and production of print materials for events and initiatives.

Photography & Video

Attend events occasionally to capture photos and video content for sharing.

Administrative Support

Provide administrative assistance including managing general email accounts, scheduling meetings, and coordinating event logistics like vendor coordination, catering, and setup.

Budget Support

Assist with tracking communications expenditures and invoice management.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

No prior experience is required – full training will be provided. However, we’d love to hear from you if you have:

Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail

Proficiency with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Gmail

Familiarity with email marketing tools such as Mailchimp

Basic experience with design software like Canva

Knowledge of WordPress or other content management systems

Experience with web design or digital marketing (preferred but not required)

Outstanding organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to manage confidential information professionally

Creative, collaborative problem-solving mindset
