Job Title: Communications Writer
Primary Purpose:
Create positive communications between an organization and its community. Prepare and distribute information about activities, goals, and policies. Share relevant information with internal and external audiences through multiple channels.
About This Role:
This is an entry-level position perfect for someone new to communications work. You’ll write, edit, and help distribute content across newsletters, websites, social media, and other publications. No prior experience is required—full training will be provided. You’ll work fully remote from home with flexible hours.
What You’ll Do:
• Write and edit stories, news releases, and articles for newsletters, websites, and social media
• Design and prepare publications including newsletters, brochures, and event materials
• Assist with photography and video recording for publications and presentations
• Contribute content to websites and digital platforms
• Support the coordination and promotion of events and programs
• Compile and maintain reports and records as needed
• Communicate information clearly to diverse audiences (staff, parents, community members)
• Learn and adapt to new software and tools as part of the role
Skills/Background Needed:
• Strong writing and editing ability in both formal and informal styles
• Comfortable communicating clearly with people at all levels
• Ability to organize multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and basic design tools (or willingness to learn)
• Comfortable with email, video calls, and standard office software
• Reliable internet connection for remote work
• A detail-oriented, enthusiastic approach to learning
