Role: Communications Writer
Contract length: Full Time, 10-month position

About the role:
We’re looking for a creative and collaborative Communications Writer to help tell the stories that make our community unique. You’ll develop and manage engaging content across newsletters, social media, and other digital channels while supporting strategic communication initiatives. This role is perfect for someone who loves writing and storytelling and understands how to use digital platforms to connect, inform, and engage an audience.
What you’ll do:
• Create and manage newsletter and social media communications aligned with overall strategy
• Coordinate storytelling projects and content initiatives
• Manage and prioritize projects using an editorial calendar
• Monitor analytics to guide content decisions and maintain strong engagement across channels
• Respond to messages and community inquiries across email and social media channels
• Support the wider communications team with strategic initiatives
• Maintain community standards and handle conversations professionally
Skills/background needed:
You don’t need prior professional experience – we’ll provide full training. However, we’re looking for someone with:
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
• Experience with or willingness to learn social media platforms and newsletter tools
• Basic familiarity with website content management systems (training provided)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Professional communication skills and attention to detail
• A background or degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field is valued but not required for entry-level candidates
