Content Writer & Copywriter – Entry Level

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated and versatile marketing and communications professional to join our team. This role is based on-site with a hybrid work option (two days per week in the office).

You’ll be a marketing generalist and content lead responsible for executing integrated communications across email, social media, web, and publications while supporting strategic planning and campaign development. You’ll play a central role in advancing communications and marketing initiatives, ensuring consistency of voice, accuracy of messaging, and effective outreach to member communities.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. We’re looking for someone who writes with clarity and purpose, manages multiple projects with confidence, and thrives in a collaborative team environment where taking initiative is valued.

Communication Responsibilities

Lead content development and editorial coordination for publications, including author recruitment, proof process management, and editorial calendar ownership. Own and maintain the editorial and communications calendar, coordinating timing and content across departments to ensure consistent, planned outreach. Draft and create emails and other communications from existing design templates. Own social media content development and scheduling, working in coordination with the marketing strategy and design team’s visual assets. Conduct research and analyze marketing campaigns and website content for effectiveness. Collaborate with members and the marketing team to develop programme testimonials and article content. Coordinate and manage advocacy communications. Assist in the creation of audience profiles and lists for targeted marketing.

Marketing Responsibilities

Work across teams to successfully complete projects from concept to delivery — on strategy, on time, and meeting pre-defined goals. Develop and implement promotional campaigns by identifying target segments, crafting audience-specific messaging, and ensuring alignment with brand voice and member value proposition. Support leadership in developing strategic marketing plans and campaign frameworks tied to organisational priorities. Ensure alignment with brand standards and style across all content and communications. Maintain strong time and project management practices to organise, prioritise, and complete multiple tasks with diligence and minimal supervision.

Skills & Attributes

Strong accuracy, diligence, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, and problem-solving ability. Capacity to plan, prioritise, measure outcomes, and act. Proactive in suggesting process improvements and new approaches to tasks. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Skills/background needed:

Strong copywriting, editing, proofreading, and communication skills with hands-on experience. Ability to write in a variety of voices and for diverse audiences. Skilled at developing member-centric messages and content. Willingness to learn new marketing, communications, and online community software. Ability to develop promotional plans, support marketing strategies, and solve complex problems creatively. Exceptional organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage tight deadlines, competing priorities, and time-sensitive demands. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; capable of leading or contributing to work teams to advance projects. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Zoom, email marketing software, database management, website management, social media management, and calendar programmes is helpful but not required.

Experience:

A minimum of two to three years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, with demonstrated writing and editorial experience. A college degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field is preferred. Full training will be provided on all software and systems specific to the role.
