Position Summary
This role plays an integral part in supporting the organization’s marketing, communications, community engagement, and fundraising initiatives. You will work collaboratively with senior team members to manage donor communications, marketing campaigns, digital content, social media, and community outreach activities.
The successful candidate will bring creativity, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive relationships with donors, families, community partners, volunteers, and staff. This is a highly collaborative and public-facing position where you’ll represent the organization professionally.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
• Assist in developing and implementing marketing, social media, and digital communications strategies that promote organizational programs and impact
• Develop, write, schedule, publish, and monitor content across social media platforms
• Design and produce marketing materials including newsletters, brochures, flyers, presentations, and digital graphics using tools like Canva
• Coordinate newsletter content and assist with email marketing campaigns
• Assist with website content updates and maintenance
• Develop compelling content that communicates organizational impact to donors, families, volunteers, and the general public
• Assist with press releases, media communications, and public-facing announcements
• Maintain and manage the organizational content and social media calendar
• Ensure all marketing materials are consistent with organizational branding, messaging, and standards
• Monitor marketing performance metrics and provide recommendations for improved engagement and effectiveness
Development & Fundraising Support
• Assist with planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns and donor communications
• Support donor research and prospect identification activities
• Prepare donor correspondence, acknowledgments, and stewardship materials
• Assist with grant research and applications as assigned
• Maintain accurate donor and prospect records using organizational systems
• Assist with tracking development activities and measuring fundraising results
Events & Community Engagement
• Support the planning and coordination of fundraising events, community engagement initiatives, and organizational activities
• Coordinate event logistics including vendors, sponsorships, volunteers, and promotional materials
• Serve as an organizational representative at assigned events and community activities
• Develop and maintain event timelines, task lists, and deadlines
• Assist with post-event follow-up, donor stewardship, and evaluation
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners, vendors, and volunteers
Accuracy & Attention to Detail
Because this position manages public-facing communications, accuracy is essential. You will:
• Carefully proofread and review all materials before publication
• Verify names, dates, times, links, and contact information
• Ensure all content aligns with organizational branding and messaging
• Protect confidential and sensitive organizational information
Family & Community Engagement
• Support communication initiatives designed to strengthen relationships with individuals served and their families
• Assist in gathering and sharing impact stories while respecting privacy and dignity
• Develop opportunities for families and community partners to share feedback and experiences
• Collaborate with program staff to ensure accurate representation of organizational impact in all communications
Administrative & Collaborative Responsibilities
• Provide administrative support including correspondence, recordkeeping, and data entry
• Maintain organized electronic and physical files related to marketing and development activities
• Collaborate across departments to ensure cohesive messaging and effective promotion of initiatives
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines
• Participate in staff meetings and planning sessions as assigned
Event Availability
This position requires reliable availability to participate in occasional evening and weekend events and organizational activities. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible. Dependable attendance and follow-through are essential to the role.

• Equivalent of 2-3 years experience in marketing, communications, fundraising, event coordination, or a related field, OR a relevant degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
Preferred
• Experience with Canva or similar design tools
• Experience with email marketing platforms
• Experience with website content management systems
• Experience with grant writing or grant administration
• Experience building community partnerships
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full-time, ongoing position
Location: Local positions available.
This position requires work in an office environment and at off-site events and community activities. You may occasionally work evenings and weekends based on organizational events. Local travel for meetings and community activities may be required. You will use standard office equipment and technology, and must be able to manage periods of increased workload surrounding fundraising campaigns and special events.
