Responsibilities:
– Edit and proofread content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and consistency
– Ensure adherence to our publication’s style guide and maintain consistency in tone and voice
– Collaborate with writers, designers, and other team members to refine and enhance the quality of content
– Fact-check information to ensure accuracy and credibility
– Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in publishing
– Provide constructive feedback and suggestions to writers to improve their work
– Help develop and maintain a strong brand voice and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms
– Support the creation and implementation of marketing and promotional materials
Skills/background needed:
– Strong command of the English language with excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
– Attention to detail and ability to spot errors and inconsistencies
– Familiarity with style guides such as AP Stylebook or Chicago Manual of Style is helpful but not required
– Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills
– Willingness to learn and develop your editing expertise
– A background in English, Journalism, or a related field is a plus but not essential
