Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to support customs brokerage operations. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely entry of import documentation for fresh produce shipments. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate exceptional accuracy, and develop knowledge in customs compliance and perishable imports. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
• Accurately enter shipment data, product classifications, and importer details into customs brokerage systems
• Review and verify import documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and regulatory certifications
• Ensure compliance with customs and regulatory requirements related to perishable goods
• Communicate with importers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies to obtain missing or corrected information
• Monitor shipment status and assist in resolving discrepancies, holds, or delays
• Maintain organized and complete records of all processed entries and compliance documentation
• Provide administrative and operational support to licensed customs brokers and team members as needed
Skills/background needed: Data entry experience (customs brokerage, logistics, or import industry experience preferred but not required). Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with customs documentation and perishable import regulations is a plus. Experience with customs brokerage software systems is an advantage. Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet time-sensitive deadlines. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Excellent attendance and reliability required. No prior experience necessary—we provide full training.
