About the Role
As a Digital Reporter, you’ll be responsible for capturing and preserving verbatim records of depositions and other judicial proceedings. Whether in-person or remote, you’ll use specialized recording software and hardware to produce high-quality audio and video documentation. You’ll also administer oaths, create detailed annotations for transcription, and ensure smooth and professional proceedings.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately record legal proceedings using advanced audio and video equipment.
Administer oaths and maintain control as an independent authority.
Annotate essential testimony for transcription and playback as needed.
Manage and secure exhibits, backup files, and complete job-specific worksheets.
Maintain professionalism and build effective relationships with clients and legal professionals.
Perform timely preparation for assignments and respond to communications efficiently.
Skills/background needed: Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and excellent problem-solving skills under pressure. Familiarity with court procedures, legal terminology, and digital recording technology is preferred but not required. You’ll receive full training to get you up to speed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and touch typing (minimum 60 words per minute with accuracy) is helpful. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required, as this role involves travel to legal proceedings.
