Editorial Assistant – Magazine & Marketing, Remote

Roles: As an editorial assistant, you will support the editing and production of a twice-yearly publication and marketing materials. Your work will focus on researching, writing, editing, and proofreading content to ensure it is accurate, clear, and consistent with style guidelines. This is an entry-level position with full training provided.

What you’ll do:

Research, condense, rewrite, and edit submitted content for clarity, tone, and appropriate length. Verify names, dates, titles, employers, and other details; resolve discrepancies and flag any concerns. Communicate with colleagues and partners to complete this work accurately.

Proofread publication materials including features, headlines, captions, display copy, and selected digital content for grammar, punctuation, clarity, consistency, and style adherence. Review page layouts and formatted content to catch errors before publication.

Copy edit and proofread marketing materials for grammar, accuracy, clarity, and consistency with established guidelines. Raise questions to maintain quality across print and digital formats.

Work closely with editors, writers, designers, and team members to coordinate workflow, communicate changes, update style sheets, and meet tight deadlines.

Skills/background needed: A keen eye for detail and strong command of grammar and punctuation are essential. Experience with research and fact-checking is valuable. You should be comfortable with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and working with PDF documents. Familiarity with Chicago style or other house style guides is helpful but not required.

Previous editing, copy editing, or proofreading experience is preferred. Experience with magazine production, alumni publications, marketing communications, or digital publishing is a plus, but we welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills.

You must be able to manage multiple projects, meet shifting deadlines, handle sensitive information professionally, and communicate clearly with colleagues across different teams.

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
