Summary: You’ll support student learning by managing an educational media center, building digital literacy skills, and fostering a love of reading across a school community.
About the Role:
This is a full-time, on-site position where you’ll plan and deliver library media services that help both students and teachers become confident users of information resources. You’ll work in an educational setting, creating an engaging learning environment and providing instruction across all formats—from books to digital resources.
Your Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain a balanced collection of print, digital, and multimedia resources that support classroom learning and student interests• Provide information literacy instruction in group and individual settings, teaching students how to access, evaluate, and organize information• Create literature-focused activities that encourage a lifelong love of reading• Design and maintain a welcoming learning environment suited for different activities—from quiet reading to hands-on computer work• Teach students about copyright, fair use, and responsible use of digital resources• Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and community members to support student achievement• Model and assist with technology use for academic engagement• Maintain professional conduct and stay current with best practices in information literacy and digital learning
Skills/background needed:
• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s in Library Science or Information Science preferred, but not required)• Strong verbal and written communication skills• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups—students, educators, families, and community members• Comfortable with technology and willing to learn new tools and systems• Organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple projects• Passion for reading, learning, and supporting student success• Full training provided to help you succeed in this role• No prior library experience required if you have teaching background
