Role Overview:
We’re looking for a reliable, calm communicator to join our emergency dispatch center. In this role, you’ll answer and process emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch appropriate response personnel, and maintain clear communication with both callers and field teams. You’ll be the critical link that helps get the right help to people in need.
What You’ll Do:
• Answer, document, and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls from the public and partner agencies
• Ask the right questions to gather information and provide guidance to callers
• Dispatch police, fire, and emergency medical personnel to incident locations
• Track the location and status of response units in real time
• Maintain clear, calm communication with field personnel throughout incidents
• Enter and retrieve information from multiple computer systems and databases
• Operate phone systems, radio equipment, and communications technology
• Assist with routine equipment maintenance and workspace upkeep
• Work effectively under pressure while managing multiple tasks and priorities
• Coordinate with other agencies during emergencies
Skills/Background Needed:
• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license
• U.S. citizen at time of hire
• Comfortable using computers and learning new software quickly
• Ability to type accurately and work with data entry
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to stay calm, focused, and professional in high-pressure situations
• Comfortable multitasking and switching between different activities
• Experience in customer service, call center work, or other fast-paced environments is helpful but not required
Training & Certifications:
Full training will be provided to help you succeed. You’ll complete our comprehensive onboarding programme, which includes all necessary modules and training steps. During your first year, you’ll obtain the following certifications with full support:
• Public Safety Telecommunications certification
• Emergency dispatch-specific certification
• CPR certification
• State database access certification
