Roles: We are looking for a beginner-friendly Sports Writer and Editor to join our remote team. You will cover breaking news and trending topics, write and edit stories on tight deadlines, and help run a busy news desk.
What you will do:
• Write quickly and accurately about breaking sports news
• Edit and help assign stories for a daily news desk
• Write live blogs around games and events
• Pitch and write short and long-form stories on trending topics
• Work with fellow writers and editors to create engaging fan experiences
Skills/background needed: No prior experience required. We provide full training. A strong interest in sports and a clear writing style help, and you should be comfortable working to deadlines. Familiarity with standard style guides is a plus but not essential.
Contract length: Flexible, with potential to move into a permanent role.
