About the role: We’re seeking a writer with experience in local news and journalism to contribute flexible, part-time articles to multiple publications. This remote position offers the opportunity to work from home while covering the stories and issues that matter to communities. You’ll have the autonomy to develop sources, pitch stories, and produce engaging local journalism on your own schedule.
What we’re looking for: You should have previous experience writing news or feature stories for publication. You’re comfortable conducting interviews, meeting deadlines, and producing accurate, engaging work. You’re self-motivated, dependable, and genuinely interested in the communities you cover. Skills/background needed: Previous newspaper reporting or writing experience; strong interviewing and research skills; ability to write on deadline; comfort with photography basics (when needed); familiarity with local journalism practices; self-direction and time management.
