Job Overview
A nonprofit organisation is seeking a Grant Writer to join the team and support the mission through funding proposals and reporting. This role includes researching funding opportunities, developing grant proposals, and managing the grant lifecycle. You’ll help secure resources to support programme development and organisational growth. Responsibilities
• Research and identify potential funding sources, including government agencies, foundations, and corporate donors
• Develop clear, persuasive grant proposals and applications that align with funder priorities and organisational goals
• Manage grant contracts and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations
• Track funding opportunities, submissions, and reporting deadlines
• Write detailed financial reports, programme summaries, and progress updates to demonstrate accountability and outcomes to funders
• Collaborate with programme staff to gather information for proposals, reports, and strategic planning
• Proofread, edit, and refine all written materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and professionalism before submission
Skills/background needed
• Experience in grant writing, technical writing, and/or fundraising (or willingness to learn)
• Strong research skills with the ability to identify suitable funding opportunities
• Excellent writing skills with attention to detail and editing ability
• Good communication skills to work with funders, partners, and organisations
• Basic knowledge of budgeting and financial reports
• Ability to work strategically and align work with organisational goals
• Full training will be provided for entry-level candidates
