We are seeking a detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team and help secure funding through effective proposal writing and research. In this role, you will research grant opportunities, develop compelling proposals, and manage the grant submission process from start to finish. You’ll work on content that helps secure vital funding for community programmes and initiatives. Responsibilities
Research grant funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and nonprofit sources
Develop grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents that align with funder guidelines
Manage the grant application process from research through submission, ensuring deadlines are met
Maintain databases to track grant submissions, deadlines, and funding status
Collaborate with team members to gather information and develop case statements that show programme impact
Prepare financial reports, progress reports, and other documentation for grant compliance
Proofread and edit proposals for clarity, accuracy, and persuasiveness
Monitor funded projects to ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines
Support planning efforts by identifying new funding sources aligned with organisational goals
Skills and background needed
Strong writing and research skills with the ability to develop clear, compelling proposals
Attention to detail and ability to proofread and edit documents for accuracy
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn database systems and project management tools
Excellent organisational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Interest in nonprofit work and community impact
No prior grant writing experience is necessary – full training will be provided for the right candidate.
