Role: Grant Writer

Contract length: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Local positions available.

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Skills/background needed: Bachelor’s degree in English, writing, or a related field. Prior grant writing experience is a plus, but not required. Strong organisational skills, excellent writing ability, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and gather and analyse data. Valid driver’s license required or obtainable within 90 days of hire.

About the role

You will be responsible for preparing and writing grant proposals and related documents to support funding applications from government agencies and private foundations. Your day-to-day work will involve researching funding opportunities, gathering and organising data from multiple sources, collaborating with teams across the organisation to understand their needs, and translating their ideas into compelling written proposals.

You will write proposals, budgets, agreements, and other documents in the format required by each funding opportunity. You’ll analyse funding requirements, communicate clearly with stakeholders, meet tight deadlines, and ensure all applications are complete and professional. You’ll also support the wider team by helping to present materials at meetings and assisting with technical documentation when needed.

Full training will be provided. You’ll work on-site and may be required to travel occasionally for research and training purposes.

What we’re looking for

You have a bachelor’s degree in English, writing, or a related field. You’re an organised, detail-oriented writer who can manage multiple deadlines. You can work independently, gather information from different sources, and turn that into clear, persuasive writing. You’re comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel, and you communicate well with people from different backgrounds. Experience with grant writing is preferred but not required – we’ll train you in the specific skills you need.

Working conditions

This is primarily a desk-based role. You’ll spend most of your time sitting at a computer, writing and researching. You’ll use standard office equipment including computers, copiers, and scanners. You may be required to use a personal or organisation vehicle for local travel.
