About This Role

We’re looking for a Grant Writer to join our Development Team. In this role, you’ll craft compelling proposals that help secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government sources. You’ll work across departments to gather information, build strong cases for support, and ensure all submissions are accurate, timely, and aligned with funder priorities. This is a full-time position where you’ll also help build relationships with funders and research new funding opportunities.

What You’ll Do

Grant Writing & Reporting: Write, edit, compile, and submit high-quality proposals, letters of intent, and reports for various institutional funders. You’ll ensure all submissions meet funder requirements and reflect organizational priorities. You’ll collaborate with staff across different departments to gather budget information, data, and narrative elements. You’ll also track deadlines and ensure timely submission of all assigned work.

Funder Engagement: Support relationship-building with institutional funders by coordinating calls, meetings, and site visits. You’ll participate in funder conversations when appropriate, follow up on declined proposals to gain insight, and share progress updates with your supervisor.

Prospect Research: Research potential new foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities. You’ll collaborate with your supervisor to identify strong prospects and recommend targets for outreach.

Data & Grants Management: Maintain accurate grant records and files in the organizational database. You’ll support your supervisor in maintaining the grants calendar and work with team members to ensure consistent documentation and proper tracking of all grant activity.

Team Participation: Participate in weekly department meetings, supervisor check-ins, and organization-wide meetings as needed.

Skills/background needed: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Arts Administration, Education, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered. You should have proven ability to write compelling, well-structured content for diverse audiences. Experience collaborating across departments is a plus. You’ll bring exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities. You’re organized, detail-oriented, and reliable in meeting deadlines. You can manage multiple projects and information sources simultaneously. You have strong interpersonal skills and can communicate effectively across teams. You’re adaptive, solutions-oriented, and professional when facing unexpected challenges. You’re receptive to feedback, committed to learning, and proactive about improving processes.
