Grant Writer – Nonprofit Fundraising, Remote

We’re looking for a Grant Writer to help advance our mission by leading grant writing and fundraising efforts. Working closely with leadership and staff, you’ll develop and implement strategies to secure foundation, government, corporate, and individual support. This role manages the full grant cycle, from research and proposal development to tracking and reporting, while strengthening donor relationships through strategic communications. You’ll support fundraising initiatives, maintain donor and grant records, and help tell compelling stories that inspire investment in our work.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive grant writing and fundraising strategy, including annual planning and donor engagement plans
• Research and cultivate prospective funding sources from foundations, government, corporations, and individual donors
• Prepare, manage, and coordinate grant-related materials including proposals, budgets, reports, and responses to funding requests, ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met
• Work with leadership to develop strategies for securing grants and individual gifts, including donor outreach and follow-up
• Draft compelling fundraising and grant communications, including proposals, outreach materials, presentations, and templates
• Maintain grant and fundraising records, including databases, deadlines, reporting requirements, and funding outcomes
• Support the planning and execution of fundraising initiatives and events
• Develop strategies to increase public awareness and strengthen engagement with donors, volunteers, and community partners
• Maintain a thorough understanding of organizational programs and priorities to communicate impact effectively to funders
• Perform additional duties as needed in support of the organization’s mission

Skills/Background Needed

• Experience in grant writing with a track record of securing foundation, government, or corporate funding
• Experience developing and implementing fundraising or donor cultivation strategies
• Excellent writing, editing, organizational, and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
• Proficiency with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Drive
• Experience using donor databases or CRM systems
• Experience working in the nonprofit sector
• Commitment to working with diverse communities
• Familiarity with community-based nonprofits is a plus

Contract Length: Ongoing

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
