About This Role
We are seeking a motivated Grant Writer to help identify and secure funding opportunities that support our programs, operations, and growth. This is a flexible, part-time remote position ideal for someone looking to build experience in nonprofit grant writing.
What You’ll Do
Grant Research & Writing
• Research and identify grant opportunities from local, community, corporate, and foundation sources that align with our mission and programmes
• Review eligibility requirements and assess which grants are a good fit for our organisation
• Draft compelling grant applications, proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials
• Customise applications to match each funder’s priorities and requirements
• Work with leadership to gather programme data, budgets, outcomes, and organisational information needed for applications
• Maintain organised records of submitted, pending, awarded, and declined applications
• Track grant deadlines and reporting requirements
• Assist with grant reports and funder updates when needed
Sponsorship Development
• Research businesses and corporations interested in sponsoring our programmes and events
• Draft sponsorship letters, requests, and partnership communications
• Customise sponsorship proposals based on the business and opportunity
• Help maintain a pipeline of prospective sponsors and track outreach and follow-ups
• Support leadership with information needed for sponsor meetings
Skills & Background Needed
• Previous grant writing experience is strongly preferred
• Experience researching and writing nonprofit grant applications
• Strong research and professional writing skills
• Ability to follow detailed application instructions with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain organised records
• Comfortable communicating with leadership to gather information and clarify requirements
• Passion for youth development, education, and community empowerment
• Familiarity with local or regional funding opportunities is helpful but not required
