Grant Writer – Part Time (Entry Level)

We are looking for a part-time grant writer to research, develop, and submit compelling grant proposals that help secure funding from foundations, government agencies, and community sources. This role supports our mission by identifying sustainable funding opportunities and ensuring all grant requirements are met on time.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for:

Grant Research & Strategy
Identify and track upcoming funding opportunities aligned with organisational priorities. Maintain a calendar of deadlines and grant deliverables. Create and update organised documentation of all grants.

Proposal Development
Write clear, persuasive grant proposals using data and evidence. Prepare budgets with the finance team. Draft inquiry letters, concept papers, and complete proposals. Compile all required attachments and documents. Tailor proposals to match each funder’s specific guidelines and priorities.

Agency Liaison
Navigate online grant submission portals and meet all technical requirements for government and foundation funding programmes.

Collaboration
Work with team members and stakeholders to gather project information, budget details, and milestones for inclusion in proposals.

Reporting
Help with post-award reporting and documentation to ensure successful grant completion and compliance.

Skills/background needed:
Exceptional written communication skills; strong organisational ability; capacity to manage multiple deadlines at once; proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to explain technical information in clear, everyday language; familiarity with online grant submission systems; understanding of environmental regulations and policy frameworks; experience gathering and analysing data for proposals.

A background in technical writing, communications, environmental science, public administration, or a related field is helpful. Previous grant writing experience is valued but not required; we provide full training and support to help you succeed.

Work Environment:
This is primarily an office-based role. Some remote or hybrid flexibility may be available and can be discussed—you’ll need to be available for occasional online meetings during standard business hours.

Hours:
This position is part-time, averaging 20–24 hours per week.

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
