Position Title: Grant Writer
About This Role:
We’re looking for a Grant Writer to help secure funding that supports our organization’s mission and growth. You’ll research grant opportunities, write compelling proposals, manage grant submissions and deadlines, and build strong relationships with funders. This is a part-time position offering the flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid arrangement.
You’ll work closely with our leadership team and program staff to gather information about our impact, translate that into funding requests, and help secure the resources we need to thrive and expand our work.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and community funding sources that align with organizational priorities.
Write, prepare, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, applications, and supporting materials.
Collaborate with program staff, leadership, and finance teams to gather information and translate program outcomes into compelling funding requests.
Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar tracking submissions, reporting deadlines, and renewal opportunities.
Prepare and submit interim, annual, and final grant reports as required by funders.
Support relationship-building activities with foundation representatives and institutional funders, including site visits and funder meetings.
Work with program and leadership staff to collect and organize outcome data, stories, and impact metrics for reporting and proposals.
Maintain organized grant files, records, and tracking systems.
Participate in departmental planning and strategy discussions as appropriate.
Skills & Background Needed:
Strong written communication and storytelling abilities—the ability to write clearly and persuasively is essential.
Research, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities independently.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all written work.
Ability to collaborate effectively with staff across different departments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and online grant portals.
Preferred: Experience in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, or proposal development. A background in communications, English, nonprofit management, or a related field is helpful but not required.
Education & Experience:
No specific education requirement—we welcome candidates with demonstrable grant writing or nonprofit fundraising experience and strong written communication skills.
If you have relevant education or prior nonprofit experience, that’s a bonus, but we’re more interested in your ability to write persuasively and manage projects independently.
Contract Length: Part Time
Work Arrangement: Hybrid remote with flexibility to work from home or on-site depending on organizational needs. Occasional attendance at organizational programs, events, or funder meetings may be required.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
What We Offer:
Full training and support to help you succeed in this role.
Flexible remote work arrangement to balance work and personal commitments.
Opportunity to make a tangible difference in funding meaningful community work.
Supportive, collaborative team environment.
Reasonable accommodations provided to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions of the position.
Location: Remote-eligible; open to applicants worldwide. Work can be performed from home or at the office depending on organizational needs and your preference.
