Summary:
We are seeking a Grant Writer and Volunteer Coordinator to help expand outreach and impact. You will leverage your skills in grant funding, proposal development, and volunteer engagement to advance our mission. Your communication skills will directly contribute to securing essential funding and building a network of volunteers to support our programs.
Responsibilities:
Research potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources aligned with organizational goals. Develop, write, and submit detailed grant proposals, including budgets, project descriptions, and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with funder requirements. Manage all stages of the grant process, from initial application to final reporting, while monitoring key deadlines. Maintain precise and comprehensive records of awarded grants, submitted reports, and volunteer engagement. Coordinate volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling to support programs and community engagement. Serve as the primary contact for volunteer activities and inquiries. Share volunteer stories and updates with the communications team to produce engaging content for newsletters and outreach materials that highlight participation opportunities. Collaborate with leadership and program staff to align grant objectives with organizational activities and needs. Assist in strategic planning of future funding opportunities.
Skills/background needed:
Strong writing skills with the ability to develop persuasive, clear proposals tailored for different audiences. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to research funding opportunities and understand basic financial reporting. Experience working with volunteers and managing scheduling. Familiarity with database platforms and record-keeping is helpful. Basic knowledge of nonprofit operations is desirable. A valid driver’s license and acceptable safe driving record are required.
