About the role:
We’re looking for a Grant Writer to join our team on a fully remote basis. You’ll be responsible for researching and writing grant proposals to help secure funding from foundations and major donors. This is a great opportunity to develop your writing and fundraising skills in a supportive environment.
What you’ll do:
Your main focus (around 95% of your time) will be grant writing. You’ll:
• Research foundations and grants that align with our mission• Develop and write compelling grant proposals• Work with team members to understand project needs and gather information for proposals• Follow up on submitted proposals and handle reporting requirements• Support field staff with foundation requests and proposal preparation as needed
You’ll also participate in team learning and development events, complete standard organizational processes, and handle administrative tasks like time tracking and expense reports as assigned.
Skills and background needed:
• At least three years of grant writing or technical writing experience (ideally in the non-profit sector)• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)• Strong organizational and time-management skills• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively• Self-motivated and strategic thinker• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent college coursework
