Junior Commercial Analyst – Data & Marketing, Remote

Role: Junior Commercial Analyst

Contract length: Full-time, permanent

Location: Remote, work from home

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application

About the role

We’re looking for an analytical, detail-oriented junior analyst to support our commercial strategy and marketing efforts. In this fully remote role, you’ll work with a lean, fast-moving team to manage our customer relationship database, track market trends, and deliver clear insights that shape business decisions.

This is an excellent entry point into commercial analysis and data work. You’ll own meaningful projects from day one, develop hands-on skills in database management and reporting, and work directly with senior leadership. We provide full training—no prior CRM or advanced analytics experience is required, just a willingness to learn and strong attention to detail.

What you’ll do (day-to-day)

Customer Data Management (35%)

Learn and support the upkeep of our customer relationship management system. You’ll help set up user accounts, maintain clean and consistent customer records, fix data quality issues, and create reports and dashboards that show our sales pipeline, customer activity, and performance trends. You’ll also write guides to help teammates use the system and be the go-to person for questions about how it works.

Market Research & Intelligence (30%)

Track market trends, competitor activity, customer demand signals, and industry announcements relevant to our business. You’ll build and maintain lists of target accounts, research growth opportunities, and spot gaps where we could do better. You’ll share what you learn in regular market briefings to the leadership team, keeping everyone informed about where opportunities lie.

Commercial Analysis & Reporting (25%)

Analyze sales data, revenue, margins, and customer pricing to spot patterns and explain what’s driving business results. You’ll build models to forecast sales, track how marketing campaigns perform, and support strategic decisions—like whether to enter a new market or adjust pricing.

Marketing Support (10%)

Work with the marketing team to turn market insights into targeting ideas, build campaign contact lists, and measure how well campaigns drive qualified leads and sales.

Skills we’re looking for

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, finance, engineering, data analytics, or a related field (recent graduates are welcome)

• Some experience with data analysis, sales support, market research, or a similar analytical role (or willingness to learn on the job)

• Familiarity with customer relationship management systems or willingness to learn—experience with any CRM platform (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) is helpful but not required

• Comfort working with Microsoft Excel—you should be able to build basic formulas, pivot tables, and clean models from messy data

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain findings clearly to senior colleagues

• Attention to detail and a logical approach to problem-solving

• Legally authorized to work worldwide

Nice to have:

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial supply, energy, or defense sectors

• Exposure to business intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau

• Familiarity with ERP systems or financial planning software

• Experience supporting multi-location or multi-brand organizations

What success looks like

In your first 90 days:

• Complete onboarding on our customer database, reporting tools, and key markets

• Establish strong working relationships with the sales and marketing teams

• Own and deliver your first analysis or dashboard project

In your first 12 months:

• Customer database is clean, consistent, and trusted as the source of truth for sales data

• You’re producing regular market intelligence reports that inform business decisions

• Pricing, margin, and pipeline analysis are embedded in monthly business reviews

• Your reporting is reliable, well-documented, and requires minimal rework

Why work with us

This is a fully remote role, so you’ll work from home with the flexibility that brings. You’ll have direct exposure to senior leadership and a say in decisions that shape our commercial strategy. We invest in our team’s growth, provide full training on all tools and processes, and believe in learning on the job. The pace is fast and the work is meaningful—you’ll own projects from day one and see the direct impact of your analysis on business decisions.
