Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Proposal Writer to join our growing team. This is a work-from-home position with standard business hours. We provide advisory services to government agencies, and we’re expanding our team. Your career growth matters to us, and we’re committed to building it together.
The Role:
As a Proposal Writer, you’ll develop, write, and edit clear, well-structured proposal content. You’ll work with subject matter experts to turn technical input into compelling, client-focused submissions that meet all requirements and stand out.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze solicitation documents to identify requirements, evaluation criteria, and submission instructions
• Draft, edit, and format proposal responses, including executive summaries and technical sections
• Conduct research and gather information by interviewing subject matter experts
• Maintain and update proposal tracking using spreadsheets and standard business tools
• Prepare final submissions in required formats (PDF, portals, printed copies)
• Design and update charts, tables, and graphics for proposals
• Edit documents and technical materials for clarity, consistency, and coverage
• Develop compliance matrices to ensure all requirements are addressed
• Improve proposal processes by evaluating and redesigning templates and workflows
• Support post-submission tasks such as amendments and clarifications
• Assist with marketing materials and website content as needed
Skills/background needed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, OR at least 2 years of experience in proposal writing or business development
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex documents
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to different audiences
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues, subject matter experts, and external stakeholders
• Problem-solving skills and flexibility in managing competing priorities
• Familiarity with government procurement terms is a plus
• Valid state-issued driver’s license
• Willingness to pass a criminal background check and maintain confidentiality
