Technical Writer – IT Operations Support

You will support IT teams by developing, improving, and maintaining clear, accurate, and accessible technical documentation for operational, support, and knowledge management purposes. No prior experience is required – full training will be provided to help you succeed in this role.

Tasks and responsibilities in this position:

• Produce, maintain, and improve IT documentation, including knowledge base articles, technical procedures, operational guides, quick reference materials, and standard procedures in areas such as helpdesk support, data center operations, and networking operations

• Collaborate with technical teams and subject matter experts to gather, validate, and translate complex technical information into clear, user-focused content

• Review, edit, and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with current systems and operational needs

• Organize technical content into logical, searchable structures that support efficient knowledge sharing and issue resolution

• Develop and apply documentation standards, templates, and quality control practices to promote consistency across all materials

• Ensure documentation is accessible, easy to navigate, and written for both technical and non-technical users

• Support documentation management, including version control, periodic reviews, and removal of outdated materials

Skills and background needed:

• Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

• Ability to work effectively with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders

• Experience with documentation platforms, knowledge management systems, or collaboration tools is helpful but not required

• Familiarity with IT concepts such as helpdesk support, ticketing systems, or operational processes is beneficial but not essential

• Strong listening, interviewing, and editing skills

Contract length: Full-time, ongoing

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Expected hours: 35 hours per week

Work format: Fully remote with scheduled meetings. Availability for collaboration with IT teams is expected.
