Overview:
We’re looking for a Technical Writer to join our team and help create clear, well-organized technical documentation. You’ll work with engineers and subject matter experts to develop specifications, procedures, test plans, and training materials that support product development and operational goals. No prior experience required—we provide full training and guidance throughout your role.
What you’ll do:
• Create, edit, and maintain engineering specifications, test plans, procedures, reports, and related technical documentation
• Draft, review, and edit documents to ensure consistency, clarity, grammar, and compliance with documentation standards
• Work with training teams to develop documentation that supports learning and operational objectives
• Coordinate document reviews and consolidate technical input from subject matter experts
• Maintain documentation throughout the product lifecycle and incorporate feedback into revisions
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and programme teams to understand products, processes, and documentation requirements
• Ensure all deliverables meet established formatting, quality, and documentation standards
Skills/background needed:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a STEM field, English, communications, technical writing, or a related discipline
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar role (or willingness to learn on the job)
• Ability to understand technical information and explain it clearly to non-technical audiences
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with advanced formatting, styles, templates, and tracked changes is a plus
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and document organization skills
• Ability to interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings, and technical requirements
• Comfortable working closely with engineers and technical teams
• Experience in aerospace, defence, manufacturing, or regulated industries is preferred but not required
Work environment:
This is a fully remote position. You’ll work from home and collaborate with our team via video calls and team chat apps. Standard office equipment will be provided.
