As a Legal Transcript Editor, you’ll play a crucial role in producing error-free, accurate transcripts by reviewing final and near-final documents alongside audio. You will uphold high standards for transcript quality, work collaboratively with reporters and internal teams, and contribute to smooth, timely legal processes. This role requires a commitment to precision, confidentiality, and excellent communication.

Key Responsibilities
Review and proofread legal transcripts for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and formatting according to established style guides
Verify transcript content against audio to ensure accurate and error-free records
Prepare final transcripts by applying digital signatures and submitting for production
Maintain proper file archival and complete all required reporting and documentation
Prioritize and organize workload effectively to meet deadlines and accommodate changes
Provide timely communication and quality assurance across all projects
Skills/background needed: Prior professional experience editing, proofreading, or producing legal transcripts is required. Experience working with deposition, court, or other verbatim legal transcripts is essential. You’ll need proficiency with transcript editing software and Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with digital transcript workflows and archival methods, and a minimum typing speed of 70 words per minute with high accuracy. Professional demeanor, client-first mindset, strong ethics, adaptability, and commitment to confidentiality are important personal qualities.
