About the Role
We’re looking for Manuscript Readers to join our creative team. This is a perfect role if you genuinely enjoy reading and want to help improve stories before they’re published.
As a Manuscript Reader, you’ll read works-in-progress and provide thoughtful feedback from a reader’s perspective. You don’t need to be a professional editor or published author—just someone who loves reading and has an eye for story problems.
What You’ll Do
• Read assigned chapters and manuscripts on your own schedule
• Provide feedback on what works, what doesn’t, and what could be improved
• Identify plot holes, continuity issues, inconsistencies, and confusing sections
• Discuss your observations and feedback during a weekly meeting
This is reader-feedback work, not traditional proofreading or copyediting. We want to understand your experience reading the story and learn where the manuscript succeeds or needs improvement.
Work Structure
This is a flexible remote contractor position. You decide when, where, and how you complete your reading, as long as you meet agreed-upon deadlines. Work is organized around a set amount of reading each week (such as a certain number of chapters). You’ll have one scheduled meeting per week to discuss the material and share your feedback.
This flexible schedule makes it ideal for students, creative enthusiasts, or anyone looking to work in the creative field while maintaining other commitments.

• You read regularly and genuinely enjoy reading
• You enjoy fiction and storytelling
• You pay attention to detail and notice when something doesn’t make sense
• You can clearly explain your opinions and reactions
• You’re dependable and comfortable meeting deadlines
No previous experience required. Full training and guidance will be provided.
