About this role:
We’re looking for a creative storyteller to join our newsroom as a Multimedia Journalist. This is a fully remote writing and content creation role where you’ll develop story ideas, research topics, write compelling narratives, and share your work across multiple platforms including web, social media, and digital channels.
You’ll work with a supportive team to produce original, engaging content that informs and resonates with audiences. No prior journalism experience is required – we provide full training on all tools and processes. Key responsibilities:
• Develop and pitch original story ideas
• Research facts and identify credible sources
• Write clear, engaging, and well-structured stories
• Produce and edit content for web and social platforms
• Shoot and edit multimedia content (photos, video, graphics)
• Use creative production techniques to enhance stories
• Share content across social media and digital channels
• Work within editorial deadlines
• Attend team meetings and contribute story suggestions
• Build and maintain relationships with community sources
Skills/background needed:
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Ability to research and verify information
• Basic photo or video editing experience (or willingness to learn)
• Comfort using social media platforms
• Organized and able to meet tight deadlines
• Creative problem-solver with a storytelling mindset
• Reliable and detail-oriented
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various locations
