We’re looking for a motivated, self-starter to join our news team as a Multimedia Journalist. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to learn and grow in broadcast journalism without the pressure of a larger market.
This is an on-site, full-time position based at our local newsroom. You’ll be at the heart of storytelling that matters to your community, working across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.
What you’ll do:
– Develop story ideas from concept through completion- Shoot, edit, and produce video content for broadcast- Go live with breaking news as it happens- Post fresh, original content to digital and social platforms- Meet tight daily broadcast deadlines while maintaining quality- Respond urgently to breaking and developing news stories- Work flexible hours to adapt to the news cycle
Skills/background needed:
– A degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience- Valid driver’s license- Excellent communication skills- Ability to work under pressure and meet fast-moving deadlines- Video editing experience is a plus (full training provided if you’re new to editing software)- Enthusiasm for storytelling and local news
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application. Overtime available when approved, with yearly pay increases as part of the contract.
Contract length: Full-time, ongoing
Expected hours: 40+ hours per week
