We’re looking for an entry-level journalist to join our team. You’ll create compelling stories for multiple platforms—web, mobile, social media, and video—combining strong writing with creative visual storytelling.
This is a fully remote role perfect for someone starting their journalism career. We provide full training, and you’ll work alongside experienced editors and reporters who will mentor you as you develop your skills.
About the role
You’ll research and develop story ideas, interview sources, and produce engaging content across multiple formats. You’ll learn to shoot, write, edit, and publish stories to tight deadlines. This role teaches you real multi-platform journalism—how stories work on video, social media, websites, and mobile apps.
Key responsibilities include:
- Research, interview, and develop story ideas
- Write and produce content for web, video, and social platforms
- Learn to shoot, edit, and publish multimedia content
- Use social media and digital tools to discover and share stories
- Participate in editorial meetings and pitch story ideas
- Meet daily deadlines and adapt quickly to breaking news
- Develop reliable source relationships in your community
Skills/background needed
No prior experience required. We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Curiosity and solid news judgment
- Ability to work under deadlines
- Comfort with technology and willingness to learn new tools
- Creative thinking and authentic storytelling ability
- Ability to stay calm and focused in fast-paced situations
We’ll teach you all the software and production tools you need as part of your onboarding.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
