About the role:
We’re looking for a Multimedia Journalist to help gather, produce, and share news stories across multiple platforms. You’ll work on a flexible schedule, combining reporting, video production, and digital publishing to keep audiences informed on current events and community news.
What you’ll do:
Gather information and conduct interviews for assigned stories; shoot, edit, and produce video content; publish stories, images, and video to websites and social media platforms including Facebook and other outlets; stay informed about local, state, and national news and events; build and maintain relationships with news contacts in the community; maintain a positive, collaborative work atmosphere with colleagues and the public; work independently while managing field assignments; assist with content formatting and digital publishing; and take on additional duties as needed.
Skills/background needed:
We’re looking for someone with 1 year of newsroom experience, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience. You should be fluent in English and Spanish, with strong written and spoken communication skills. Experience with newsroom computer systems, field cameras, and video editing software is important. You’ll need to work well under tight deadlines, follow directions, and incorporate feedback into your work. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required. You must be authorized to work in the United States.
Knowledge of video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar software is preferred. Familiarity with file sharing systems is a plus.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Temporary, part-time
