About the role:
We’re looking for a Research Writer to help translate complex scientific research into clear, compelling content. You’ll work with researchers and teams to create grant proposals, research documents, educational materials, and communications that support research initiatives and funding success.
This is a fully remote position where you’ll play a vital role in bridging the gap between technical research and wider audiences, helping to advance research goals through strong writing and strategic communication.
What you’ll do:
• Write and edit scientific documents including research manuscripts, grant proposals, technical reports, abstracts, and letters of support
• Provide editorial support for grant applications, ensuring clarity and adherence to funding agency guidelines
• Collaborate with faculty and research teams to gather information, clarify scientific concepts, and ensure accuracy across all content
• Create educational and communication materials including brochures, presentations, infographics, and web content
• Develop templates and style guides to improve efficiency and consistency in proposal development
• Support strategy meetings and workshops on proposal planning and scientific writing
• Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and collaborating across teams
Skills/background needed:
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or science communication (advanced degree preferred)
• Experience writing and editing scientific or technical documents
• Experience with grant applications and research support environments is a plus
• Ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to accuracy and consistency
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and document formatting tools
• Familiarity with design tools such as Canva and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of citation management software such as Zotero
• Familiarity with AI-powered writing and research tools is helpful
• Ability to work effectively with researchers, administrators, and cross-functional teams
