About the role
We are seeking a Senior Editor to join our global publishing team. You’ll work with subject matter experts, researchers, designers, and production specialists to develop high-quality research and insights projects—from reports and articles to infographics and videos. This is a fully remote position open to applicants worldwide.
What you’ll do
As a senior editor and content strategist, your responsibilities will include:
• Collaborate with internal and external thought leaders, researchers, and publishing colleagues to strategize, develop, and execute research and insights projects on technology and AI topics
• Build and nurture a network of professionals working in technology and AI, identifying opportunities to amplify their thinking and serve as their trusted advisor on content planning
• Maintain intellectual rigor and credibility by applying critical thinking—asking tough questions about data sources, methodology, and conclusions; maintaining precision in language; and challenging assumptions before publication
• Develop storytelling strategies for various content types—reports, articles, infographics, videos, dashboards—adapting your approach to suit each medium
• Work as a ghostwriter, editor, copywriter, or scriptwriter depending on project needs, calibrating your editorial approach based on the state of the content and project requirements
• Guide and coach authors on language usage, writing style, storytelling effectiveness, and editorial best practices
• Edit content for factual accuracy, grammar, readability, flow, and style, applying SEO best practices throughout
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with authors, designers, marketing teams, and other colleagues to ensure objectives, timelines, and expectations are clear and met
• Lead and contribute to team-wide initiatives focused on storytelling innovation and continuous improvement
• Mentor and review work from junior editors
The team
You’ll work within a global publishing team comprising editors, production specialists, designers, and multimedia publishing professionals located around the world. Skills and background needed
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in writing, editing, and copyediting content in American English (business journalism experience preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in English, literature, journalism, communications, or related field)
• Deep experience editing technology and AI articles and research reports
• Exceptional editing and copyediting skills; mastery of American English grammar, conversational phrasing, and Associated Press style
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills; proven ability to translate complex concepts into clear, accessible language
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Journalist’s instinct for fact-checking and critical thinking; ability to read research with healthy skepticism, ask probing questions about data and methodology, and spot logical gaps
• Ability to consider all content projects from the perspective of the target audience and their needs
• Versatile editing and writing skills—from engaging headlines and web copy to developmental editing of long-form research reports
• Experience creating multimedia content
• Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills; confidence interacting with and influencing personnel at all levels
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, content management systems, and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multifunctional team
Preferred experience
• Background working for a business news publication or publishing house
• Experience with corporate thought leadership and global, cross-industry content
