We’re looking for a detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team. In this role, you’ll inspect vehicles, identify maintenance and repair needs, and create clear work orders. You’ll develop practical judgment about which repairs are necessary and help balance quality work with cost-effectiveness and timelines. You’ll collaborate with team members across departments to make smart repair decisions and provide valuable feedback on vehicle condition.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect vehicles according to industry standards and company requirements
• Perform test drives as part of the inspection process
• Troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle components and systems
• Communicate with team members about major issues and concerns
• Document all components requiring work or replacement on service orders, keeping budget in mind
• Maintain daily communication with your reporting manager and colleagues
• Wear all required safety equipment
• Complete other assigned job duties as needed
Skills/background needed:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required
• Knowledge of vehicle components and inspection criteria
• Comfort working in a shop environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office is a plus
• Experience with business software systems is helpful
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
• Comfortable climbing in and out of vehicles
• Able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Willing to go up and down stairs multiple times daily
• Comfortable bending, squatting, and kneeling during inspections
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Permanent, full-time
Expected hours: 40–50 hours per week
