Service Writer – Entry Level, Full Time, On-Site

Position Summary

We’re looking for a Service Writer to join our busy service department. In this role, you’ll be the key contact between our customers and our service technicians, ensuring excellent communication and customer satisfaction at every step.

No prior experience necessary. If you’re new to the field, we’ll provide full training and support you through industry-standard certification at no cost to you. If you already have relevant experience, we’d love to hear about it—but it’s not required to apply.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your main responsibility is to listen to customers, understand what they need, and make sure the service team has all the information required to do great work. Day-to-day tasks include:

– Listen to customer descriptions of service requests and problems; ask clarifying questions to fully understand what’s needed
– Create repair estimates by calculating material, supply, and labor costs
– Prepare and enter repair orders into our system, recording all relevant details
– Manage warranty and service contract information; explain coverage clearly to customers
– Be the main point of contact between customers and the service department—keeping both sides informed
– Schedule appointments and manage customer follow-ups
– Keep detailed records of all customer interactions and work completed
– Process payments and calculate charges accurately
– Handle customer questions, concerns, and any issues that arise
– Stay current with industry information through ongoing learning

Skills/Background Needed

– Valid driver’s license
– Comfortable with basic computer use: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, general internet browsing, and typing
– Ability to listen carefully and communicate clearly with customers and team members
– Comfortable with numbers and basic math (percentages, calculations, discounts)
– Organized, reliable, and punctual
– Problem-solving mindset; ability to handle challenging customer situations with patience
– Willingness to multitask and adapt to new tools and processes
– Ability to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
– Good close vision for reading documents and screens

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Contract length: Permanent, full-time

Hours: 38–42 hours per week, Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Location: Local positions available. In-person, on-site work.
