Job Overview
We’re looking for a dependable, organized, and customer-friendly Service Writer to help manage the day-to-day flow of a repair shop.
The Service Writer is the main point of contact between customers and technicians. You’ll be comfortable working with customers, automotive parts, repair estimates, and shop-management software. No prior experience is required—we provide full training.
Duties
• Greet customers and discuss their vehicle concerns and service needs
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and keep customers updated on their vehicles
• Create and manage repair orders using shop software
• Prepare accurate estimates for parts and labor
• Learn automotive parts and terminology
• Look up, price, and order parts from vendors
• Check parts availability, delivery times, warranties, returns, and backorders
• Communicate with technicians regarding diagnostics, recommended repairs, and parts needed
• Present estimates and recommended repairs to customers in a clear and professional manner
• Obtain customer authorization before repairs are performed
• Keep customers informed of repair progress, additional recommendations, costs, and completion times
• Process invoices and customer payments
• Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records
• Follow up with customers when necessary
• Help keep the front office organized and running smoothly
Skills/background needed
• Comfortable using computers, phones, email, and software
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Able to multitask in a busy environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work closely with technicians, parts vendors, customers, and management
• Dependable, professional, and friendly
• Prior automotive experience is helpful but not required

We want someone who understands that good customer service is just as important as getting the repair right. You should be able to listen to the customer, communicate effectively with technicians, prepare accurate estimates, locate the correct parts, and help keep each job moving from check-in through completion.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full time, on-site position
