Contract length: Part-time, 3 days per week (including two Saturdays per month)
Roles: You’ll manage the complete work order cycle—from creation through closing and invoicing. You’ll coordinate with the service team to schedule jobs, assign work areas based on employee skills, and ensure all processes run smoothly. You’ll review work orders for accuracy before customer billing, handle warranty documentation and submissions, and maintain departmental tools and equipment. You’ll also support team development, participate in employee reviews, and help identify ways to improve service department operations.
What you’ll do:
• Manage work orders from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timely customer billing
• Schedule and assign jobs to team members based on their skills and availability
• Review work orders for completeness before invoicing
• Track warranty and product improvement programmes, ensuring timely submissions
• Monitor service department processes to keep both customers and staff satisfied
• Help identify and execute improvements to departmental workflows
• Ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained and ready to use
• Support team members’ development and growth
• Participate in employee review processes
• Maintain strong working relationships with peers and management
• Pursue available training opportunities to build your knowledge and skills
• Uphold a positive professional reputation in the community
Skills/background needed:
• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a service department (or equivalent)
• Comfort with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead and motivate a team
• Basic understanding of service department finances and profitability
• Ability to read and interpret reports and data
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed
• Genuine commitment to excellent customer service
• High school diploma or equivalent experience
