About the role:
We’re looking for an entry-level Service Writer to join our team. You’ll be responsible for reviewing vehicle conditions, recommending service work, and coordinating repairs. This is a hands-on position that combines administrative duties with practical vehicle assessment.
While prior mechanical experience is preferred, full training will be provided to help you succeed in this role.
Key responsibilities:
• Review and document vehicle conditions and recommend appropriate service work
• Schedule service work and monitor completion timelines
• Perform diagnostic tests including compression tests and system checks
• Maintain detailed service records within company systems
• Operate a forklift to move vehicles to work and staging areas
• Assist with inventory management and workspace organization
• Help prepare vehicles for preview and auction processes
• Support team members with vehicle loading and unloading
• Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines
• Report equipment issues and safety concerns to your supervisor
What we’re looking for:
• Mechanical or electrical experience with vehicles (preferred but not required)
• Comfort using computers and Microsoft Office software
• Ability to lift 75 lbs regularly
• Willingness to operate a forklift (training provided)
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM
• Punctuality and a respectful approach to working with colleagues and customers
• Attention to detail and neat workspace habits
• Willingness to ask questions and learn
• Comfort working around chemicals, cleaners, and fuel fumes
