Social Media Content Creator – Part Time Remote

Roles: Social Media Content Creator, Community Manager

Contract length: Contract, part-time (10–15 hours per week)

Location: Remote

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to launch and grow a brand’s social media presence from the ground up. You’ll own the voice, content strategy, and community engagement across multiple platforms, with real influence over brand direction and no corporate layers standing between you and decision-making. You’ll report directly to the owner in a small, fast-moving environment.

Your main responsibility: building an engaged audience and establishing a consistent brand voice where your community actually spends their time online. This means creating authentic content, tracking what works, and turning analytics into action — not just chasing likes.

What you’ll do

• Develop and own content strategy across 2–3 core social platforms (examples: Twitter, Bluesky, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram)
• Create short-form video and photo content featuring products, behind-the-scenes making, and community stories
• Build and maintain a content calendar aligned to product launches, events, and seasonal community moments
• Engage authentically with your community — replies, collaborations, and relationship-building
• Read platform analytics and use them to decide what to post more of, where to focus effort, and what’s actually converting to sales
• Support marketing for events and conventions — pre-event hype, live updates, and follow-up
• Work self-directed in a small business environment where you own the full social media function end-to-end

Skills/background needed:

Essential:
• Genuine understanding of and connection to your target community — its platforms, culture, norms, and events
• 1+ years managing social media for a brand, business, or active community account (side projects and portfolios count if you can show real results)
• Ability to create short-form content: phone photography, basic video editing, engaging captions
• Comfort reading and acting on platform analytics
• Self-direction and ownership — you’ll manage the full social media function with minimal oversight
• Full training provided in company-specific practices and tools

Great to have:
• Experience marketing handmade, artist, or maker products
• Event marketing or artist community experience
• Basic design skills (Canva or similar)
• Email marketing experience
• Small paid campaign experience on platforms like Meta or TikTok

Why this role

You’ll have real creative control and measurable impact from day one. Work fully remote with a flexible schedule around an agreed posting rhythm. You’ll grow your portfolio with genuine campaign results and direct experience building a brand community from launch phase.

What success looks like

In your first 12 months: you’ve built an engaged following across your core platforms, established a recognizable brand voice and posting rhythm, driven measurable traffic to the business, and can clearly show which content types convert to real customer action — not just engagement metrics.

What we offer
• Competitive entry-level pay
• Fully remote, flexible schedule
• Employee discount
• Opportunity to grow into a permanent role
