About This Role

We’re building the social media presence for a new wellness brand from the ground up. You’ll work as the strategic social media expert and copywriter, translating complex health and wellness concepts into clear, engaging content that connects with real people. Your mission is to create a sustainable content engine that drives engagement, brand awareness, and audience growth—while keeping founder involvement minimal.

This is a chance to shape a brand’s voice and content strategy from the very beginning, working closely with a founder who has deep expertise in the wellness space.

What You’ll Do

Content Strategy & Planning: Build and manage a monthly social content calendar across Instagram, Stories, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn. Plan concepts for approximately 20 posts per month, with adaptation strategies for each platform.

Strategic Direction: Take founder insights, ideas, and industry research, then turn them into clear content concepts, hooks, and shot lists that guide what content to create and why.

Copywriting: Write engaging hooks, captions, video text overlays, and hashtags tailored to wellness audiences. Create weekly copy for Instagram posts, LinkedIn adaptations, and Stories.

Community Engagement: Respond to comments and direct messages as the brand voice, building genuine connection with the audience (approximately 2–3 hours per week, on your own schedule).

Performance Analysis: Review monthly performance data, identify what’s working, and adapt your strategy. Share learnings and actionable next steps with the team.

Team Communication: Work collaboratively with the founder and team using a team chat app to stay aligned and share updates asynchronously.

Creative Support: When needed, create or edit content yourself—using design tools like Canva, editing video, or shooting simple b-roll footage. If you’re comfortable being on camera or creating b-roll, that’s a valuable bonus.

Skills & Background Needed

Strategic Thinking: You’re not just executing tasks—you think about why content works. You’ll speak up if something doesn’t feel right for the brand or if a post isn’t performing as expected.

Wellness Space Knowledge: You have genuine interest in or experience with wellness, health, or related topics. You understand why this space matters and can speak authentically about it.

Copywriting Ability: You write engaging, warm copy that grabs attention without being clickbait. Your writing feels expert and trustworthy, not preachy.

Analytics Mindset: You understand which metrics matter—engagement, saves, shares, and reach. You can turn performance data into insights that improve future content.

Platform Knowledge: You understand how each social platform works (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts) and can adapt content accordingly.

Translation Skills: When someone shares an idea or expertise, you naturally know how to turn it into a scroll-stopping post with a compelling hook.

Creative Capability: You can use design tools like Canva and have basic video editing or content creation skills. Bonus if you’re comfortable shooting simple b-roll or being on camera.

Independent Work Style: Once you’re trained on the brand’s voice and strategy, you work independently. You’ll manage your own calendar without needing daily direction.

Business Setup: You operate as an independent freelancer with your own business structure (such as a registered sole proprietorship, LLC, or corporation) or hold an EIN.

What We’re Looking For

You’re someone who genuinely cares about the wellness space—not just looking for another client to manage. You understand that building trust in this field means grounding content in evidence and expertise, not just hype. You know how to fold expert insights into content that feels credible and human. You’re willing to push back when something doesn’t feel right, and you bring strategic thinking to every decision.

Experience in social media marketing or content strategy is valued, but what matters most is your ability to think strategically, write compelling copy, and genuinely connect with the wellness audience.

What to Include When Applying

Please share links to your portfolio, website, or examples of social posts you’ve created. Include notes about your role in each piece (did you write it, design it, manage the campaign?). Samples of social copy, captions, or scripts you’ve written are especially helpful. If you have a content calendar or campaign plan you’ve built, feel free to share that too.

Confirm that you work or plan to work as an independent freelancer with other clients, or that you operate your own registered business.

Why This Matters

You’ll be building something from the ground up. The brand is still in its early stages, which means your work will directly shape how it’s perceived, how the audience connects with it, and how it grows. This is a chance to make real impact as a strategic partner, not just a contractor executing tasks.
