Position Overview
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Social Media Coordinator to help manage and grow our social media presence across multiple platforms. You’ll create engaging content, interact with our community, and help build a welcoming online space that connects people and showcases our programmes and events.
This is a great entry-level opportunity to develop real social media skills in a supportive environment with full training provided. No prior experience necessary—just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
What You’ll Be Doing
Social Media Management (50%)
• Create and schedule engaging posts across major social media platforms
• Film and edit short video content for social channels
• Respond to comments, messages, and community interactions daily
• Build and maintain content calendars and plan social campaigns
• Write posts, captions, and scripts that match our brand voice
• Track engagement metrics and report on what’s working
• Stay updated on current trends and adapt them appropriately for our audience
• Provide live social media coverage of events and activities
Community Outreach (30%)
• Connect with other community groups to share and coordinate content
• Help plan special social media campaigns and projects
• Brainstorm original content ideas and creative initiatives
Administrative Tasks (15%)
• Manage requests for social media collaboration and posting
• Help create processes that ensure smooth content delivery and timely posting
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
What We’re Looking For
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Ability to create or edit photos and videos (examples welcome but training provided)
• Familiarity with social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
• Organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Interest in community engagement and people-focused work
Nice to Have
• Experience with photography, videography, or graphic design
• A portfolio or examples of past social media work (not required but helpful)
Roles: Social Media Coordinator
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Temporary, hourly position
