Social Media Manager – Content & Community, Entry Level

About the Role:

This is a fully remote position with occasional on-site requirements in your local area to capture content and support events. You’ll develop, execute and contribute to social media strategy across multiple platforms to increase engagement, build community awareness, and create compelling brand content.

You’ll work primarily during standard business hours, though occasional evening and weekend event coverage may be required. Travel to attend occasional team meetings and community events is part of the role.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Develop and contribute to overall social media strategy, posting regularly across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube to inform stakeholders and increase engagement

• Create daily posts, design branded graphics, and implement paid social media strategies to increase brand awareness and build reputation

• Photograph and film content for social media that stays current and on-trend

• Monitor social media pages and promptly respond to community comments, reviews, questions and concerns

• Stay informed about social media industry trends and best practices, providing input into strategic direction for brand channels

• Participate in creative brainstorming sessions to develop new, effective ways of engaging audiences

• Support community and partner events as live social media coverage, collaborating with colleagues and community members to develop compelling stories

• Maintain monthly editorial calendars with pre-approved posts supporting organisational goals

• Create and edit content from start to finish, including videos and graphics

Skills/background needed:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, advertising or related field (or equivalent relevant experience)

• Strong written and spoken communication skills

• Organised and detail-oriented approach to work

• Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment

• Experience managing social media platforms and analytics

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and familiarity with WordPress

• Ability to develop social media strategies and communicate recommendations to leadership

• Talent for creating persuasive, engaging content tailored to different platforms and audiences

• Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and within tight timeframes

• Ability to think critically, work collaboratively with all levels of team members, and thrive in fast-paced environments

• Proactive approach with strong follow-through and results orientation

Preferred experience:

• Experience in large, complex organisations

• Ability to multitask during live events

• Experience with content creation and editing tools

Work arrangements:

• Fully remote with occasional on-site presence in your local area

• Some work on weekends and outside standard business hours

• Local and occasional regional travel required

Rate:

Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
