About the role

We’re looking for an entry-level Social Media Manager to develop and execute social media strategies across our organisation’s primary channels. You’ll build engagement with our audience, strengthen brand awareness, and support key organisational goals through creative, platform-appropriate content.

This role involves:

Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement data-informed social media plans aligned with organisational priorities. Establish measurable goals and track performance using platform analytics. Stay updated on platform trends and social media best practices.

Content Development
Create, curate, and publish engaging content (text, graphics, photography, and video) across social media channels. Collaborate with internal teams to highlight key stories and events. Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all platforms.

Community Engagement
Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages in a timely, professional manner, and foster meaningful engagement with your audience. Identify opportunities for real-time content and storytelling.

Campaign Support
Support targeted social media campaigns, including paid advertising efforts where appropriate. Assist in developing campaigns that drive engagement and key outcomes.

Analytics & Reporting
Track and analyse social media performance using platform analytics. Provide regular insights and recommendations to improve reach and engagement. Present performance reports to stakeholders.

Skills/background needed:

Essential:
• Demonstrable experience creating engaging content across multiple platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, Pinterest)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with social media analytics and platform insights tools
• Proficiency in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Gmail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience with content design tools such as Canva
• Excellent attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and multitask
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for events
• Comfortable communicating with a variety of people and teams

Desirable:
• Basic photography or videography skills
• Experience managing or contributing to paid social media campaigns
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools
• Experience in organisational marketing or communications
