Social Media Manager – Full Time (Remote)

About the role:

We are looking for a Social Media Manager to join our team on a fully remote basis. You’ll develop and execute social media strategies, create engaging content across multiple platforms, monitor audience engagement, and provide analytics insights to guide communication decisions.

This is a full-time position where you’ll work with senior leadership to shape messaging, manage content calendars, respond to audience inquiries, and stay ahead of emerging trends in digital communications.

What you’ll do:

Social Media Strategy & Content Creation

Develop and implement social media strategies aligned with organisational goals. Create, curate, and schedule engaging content including graphics, videos, and articles across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok. Ensure all content meets professional standards and brand guidelines. Support rapid-response messaging and crisis communication when needed.

Monitoring & Engagement

Monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and feedback. Respond professionally to inquiries and maintain a positive public image. Manage communication during sensitive situations by escalating concerns to leadership as appropriate. Identify emerging issues and trends across platforms.

Analytics & Reporting

Use analytics tools to measure campaign effectiveness, track engagement metrics, and assess audience sentiment. Generate regular performance reports for leadership with actionable insights. Continuously optimise content strategies based on data to improve reach and impact.

Collaboration & Training

Work with cross-functional teams to ensure coordinated messaging. Advise leadership on emerging opportunities and risks in social media. Provide guidance to colleagues on social media best practices and platform management. Stay current with industry trends and digital marketing innovations.

Compliance & Security

Ensure all social media activities comply with organisational policies and security protocols. Maintain awareness of digital security threats and implement content moderation best practices.

Skills/background needed:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Marketing, or related field. Proven experience managing social media for organisations with senior-level leadership. Experience creating and analysing social media content across multiple platforms. Familiarity with analytics tools and performance reporting. Knowledge of content creation tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is beneficial. Experience with generative AI tools for content creation is a plus. Understanding of communication security protocols and compliance standards. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members across departments.
