We’re looking for an enthusiastic Social Media Specialist to help manage and grow our social media presence across multiple platforms. You’ll be the primary voice and strategist behind our accounts, creating engaging content, monitoring community interactions, and helping us build meaningful connections with our audiences.
No prior social media experience is required—we’ll provide full training and you’ll have plenty of support as you learn. You’ll work in a collaborative, open-minded environment where new ideas are welcomed and everyone is committed to your success.
What You’ll Do
Daily Tasks:
• Monitor and respond to all notifications, comments, and messages across our social media accounts
• Create engaging content using design tools like Canva, working from a flexible content calendar
• Curate and schedule posts, including stories and time-sensitive content
• Monitor and optimise our paid social media ads to ensure they’re performing well
• Track trending topics and industry news, adapting content as needed
• Stay organised with hashtags and encourage community engagement
• Mix different content types—from professional pieces to fun, relatable posts that resonate with our audience
• Support requests from various teams across the company
• Respond promptly to emails and messages, keeping everyone updated on your progress
Weekly Tasks:
• Meet with leadership to discuss ongoing activities and new ideas
• Create and curate weekly feature content
• Write engaging copy for specific posts
• Schedule posts in advance using scheduling tools
• Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot issues and brainstorm new initiatives
Monthly Tasks:
• Plan and schedule posts for upcoming holidays
• Develop new engagement initiatives to encourage audience participation
• Create graphics and celebrate community milestones
• Attend management meetings to report on account performance and analytics
• Participate in company meetings and training sessions
Ongoing Responsibilities:
• Stay informed about new and emerging social media platforms
• Develop and propose new social media strategies and initiatives
• Create video content using accessible editing tools
• Repurpose and refresh existing content to keep things fresh
• Interview team members and community members for content
• Work independently, manage your time, and ask for help when you need it
• Share ideas and feedback with leadership—your voice matters
Skills/Background Needed
• Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.)
• Strong written communication skills with attention to spelling and grammar
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
• Creativity and willingness to experiment with new content ideas
• Basic graphic design skills or willingness to learn (we use Canva)
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Enthusiasm for learning and growing in the role
• No experience necessary—we provide full training
You don’t need to be an expert in any particular industry. You’ll learn as you go, and you’ll have plenty of knowledgeable team members to support you along the way.
