About the role
We’re looking for a Social Media Specialist to develop and manage our social media presence. You’ll create engaging content, monitor performance, and help build our community across multiple platforms. This is a great entry-level opportunity to grow your social media skills in a supportive, full-time role.
No prior professional experience required – we’ll provide full training and support to help you succeed.
What you’ll do
• Develop and execute social media strategies across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter
• Create, curate and schedule engaging content including graphics, videos and written posts
• Maintain a content calendar to plan and schedule timely, channel-appropriate posts
• Monitor social media comments, messages and mentions and respond in a timely, professional manner
• Track social media trends and platform updates to keep strategies current
• Analyze key performance metrics and generate reports on campaign effectiveness
• Collaborate with internal teams to highlight stories, achievements and initiatives
• Ensure all content aligns with brand voice, tone and guidelines
• Identify opportunities for collaboration with internal and external partners
Skills/background needed
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Ability to create or edit simple graphics and video content (we’ll train you on tools)
• Familiarity with popular social media platforms
• Basic understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a team environment
Experience with tools like Canva, Google Docs, or social media management platforms is helpful but not required. Any experience with content development, copywriting or video editing is a bonus, but we’ll teach you everything you need to know.
Working conditions
You’ll be based in our office environment and may travel within the local community when needed. You’ll spend extended periods at your desk working with various sources of information. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse groups are essential. You may be required to work additional hours depending on circumstances.
