We’re looking for a part-time sports writer to cover high school and local sports events. No prior experience is necessary—we’ll provide full training to the right person who is eager to learn and grow in this role.
About the role:
You’ll attend games and sporting events, interview coaches and players, and write engaging stories about your local sports community. You’ll work both from the office and out in the field covering events. This is a flexible, part-time position that fits around other commitments.
Skills/background needed:
• A genuine interest in school sports (football, basketball, softball, baseball, and similar activities)
• Comfortable using a computer and basic typing skills
• Friendly, outgoing personality—you enjoy talking with people and building relationships
• Reliable transportation to travel to games and events
• Dependable and punctual
