About the role
We’re looking for an entry-level Technical Illustrator & Documentation Specialist to join our team. In this fully remote position, you will create technical drawings, graphics, and illustrations for use in user guides and technical manuals. You’ll turn engineering data into clear, accurate visual content that helps users understand complex systems.
You’ll work with a supportive team of writers, engineers, and technical professionals to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality technical publications. Your responsibilities will include:
• Creating 2D and 3D technical drawings and illustrations
• Updating and modifying technical content to meet style and format requirements
• Reviewing technical documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Managing file organization and maintaining illustration databases
• Completing revisions and updates to illustrations, including part breakdowns, schematics, cabling, and block diagrams
• Working with peers and engineers to incorporate illustrations into technical manuals
• Planning workload around established schedules and meeting deadlines
What we’re looking for
You should have a strong attention to detail and be comfortable working with technical content. While prior professional experience is a plus, we welcome candidates with foundational knowledge or self-taught skills in the tools listed below. Full training will be provided.
Skills/background needed:
Essential:
• Experience with or knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe Photoshop
• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat (Standard or Pro)
• Experience organizing and managing files and data
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Skill with vector graphics
Helpful to have:
• Experience with IsoDraw or 3D modeling tools
• Knowledge of XML, SGML, or HTML tagging
• Exposure to technical writing or documentation standards
• Any background in engineering, manufacturing, or technical fields
Contract length: Full-time, permanent
